2024 Kia Forte Redesign, Price, Release Date – The Honda Civic, Hyundai Elantra, Mazda 3, and Toyota Corolla are strong competitors for the 2024 Kia Forte compact car. The Forte is among the best-looking small vehicles on the market. Inspired by the Kia Stinger, the sporty GT option has 18-inch alloy wheels, giving the compact car a more substantial feel. There are two points for the exterior’s sharpness and another point for the interior’s attention to detail.
The top GT model is the most visually appealing with its black exterior details and rear spoiler, but it is also the most expensive. The GT-Line adds the lip spoiler, fog lights, the sport grille, and side sills of the GT without charging more. The Forte was redesigned in 2023 and then revised in 2024 Kia Forte to offer GT and GT-Line trims, although the 2024 model remains unchanged. The 2024 model has 18-inch wheels and a slanted appearance reminiscent of the Kia Stinger sports sedan when it comes to the Kia Forte. Available accent stitching, soft-touch surfaces, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, and a silver-on-black design concept with round outboard vents improve upon the economy car’s past. However, the available powertrains betray the car’s attractive design and intriguing features.
With the CVT, the base 147-hp 2.0-liter inline-4 is designed for efficiency, not power; it achieves four mpg better than the standard manual transmission for a combined 35 mpg of EPA-rated fuel economy. In the GT version, there’s an engine that makes 200 horsepower, but the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission would make us choose the manual transmission over the 7-speed dual-clutch. Though it has the same interior space and an ingenious design as the Honda Civic, only the GT-Line, EX, and GT models have 60/40-split rear seats, putting the Forte at a disadvantage. It’s okay for a tiny sedan, but a hatchback would have more room in the trunk.
Interior
All but the base FE model of the 2024 Kia Forte have a 15.3 cubic-foot trunk that is expandable with 60/40-split folding back seats. Despite this, Forte’s load capacity gets it an extra half-point to a 6. The Forte is smaller than the Jetta and Civic, but not by much. Rear-seat passengers will get 35.7 inches of legroom. They can be manually moved in six places to fit various body types. Premium elements like leather-wrapped steering wheels and red contrast stitching adorn the inside of the GT-Line, EX, and GT grades, but the budget car’s roots lie in the stripped-down FE model. There is a good balance between firmness and softness in the GT Sport bucket seats.
Engine
The inline-4 has 147 engine and 132 lb-ft of torque, but the continuously variable automatic gearbox makes it reluctant to accelerate quickly; pushing it fills the interior with a sense of guilt. You’ll get the same response if you drive slowly. For $900, you can have a CVT automatic transmission instead of a 6-speed manual, which improves gas mileage by four mpg. The GT, the company’s premier model, is the only one with a sporty bent. After being introduced in 2024 as an option, it employs the 1.6-liter turbo-4 from the Elantra N-Line to produce 201 horsepower, enough to go to 60 mph in under seven seconds.
While we haven’t tested this exact model’s $600 manual option, we can confidently state that it’s better than the unrefined and unrepentant dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The transmission yo-yos about 2,000 rpm and rocks irrationally between gears in Sport mode under hard power yet consistently shifts in Normal mode. Even though the torsion beam suspension has been replaced with MacPherson struts up front and lighter body weight in the GT, these factors aren’t enough to make up for the car’s inability to maintain tight curves at high speeds. 2024 Kia Forte Release Date and Price
An optional CVT adds $900 to the basic price of the FE model with a 6-speed manual transmission. The EX and GT, with the turbo-4 at $24,385, are the most expensive models in the range.
