2024 Kia Optima Interior, Engine, Redesign – In addition to a substantial list of standard safety and convenience features, there are two fuel-efficient hybrid models in the 2024 Kia Optima portfolio. The mid-size sedan hopes to entice customers away from SUVs. In 2024, the Optima LX, S, EX, EX Premium, and SX trim levels will be available. Only in the EX trim can you get the commute-slaying Optima Hybrid and Optima Plug-In Hybrid.
2024 Kia Optima Redesign
We still like the 2024 Kia Optima even though some rivals have adopted their fastback-style body shapes. We give it a 7 out of 10 for its interior and appearance, which are both above average. The 2024 Optima has a sporty design thanks to a swoopy, coupe-like (maybe it’s coupe-lite) roofline, and large wheels that fill its wells. It also comes in a broad range of vibrant colors, even if dealer lots are more likely to be covered with tans and grays. The Optima S and SX features the sportiest appearance, blacked-out exterior trim, and upsized wheels. The Optima’s dashboard is lower and more featureless than its predecessor’s, giving it a more car-like impression. Although it lacks the previous Optima’s expressiveness, the new model has a more user-friendly control structure and a better outer view.
Interior
Cargo space in the 2024 Optima is generous, and the seats are comfortable. Rear-seat passengers should take their headwear off. The interiors of sedans are rated 7 out of 10 overall, with luggage capacity and passenger room both scoring well above average. Comfortable and well-adjusted, the front seats in this car come as standard. The driver’s seat has a 10-way power adjustment as standard on S and higher trims, while the EX Premium and SX trims have an extra lumbar support feature as standard as well.
There is also a power passenger seat on the EX Premium and SX Optimas. Rear-seat occupants will find a good 35.6 inches of legroom but just 37.8 inches of headroom owing to the sloping roofline. Entry and exit are made more difficult by low-cut door apertures. The materials inside are excellent for the price. It’s good to have a synthetic leather/cloth trim option in the Optima S above the regular cloth seats in the LX. The EX and SX models come standard with leather upholstery. Standard Optimas’ trunk has a capacity of 15.9 cubic feet. This is reduced to 13.4 cubic feet for hybrid vehicles and 9.8 cubic feet for the Optima Plug-In Hybrid.
Engine
The 2024 Kia Optima’s performance story is convoluted. Based on the LX and S models that are most likely to be seen on dealer lots, we give the lineup a score of 6 out of 10. An inline-4 2.4-liter produces 185 engine and distributes it to the front wheels through a 6-speed automated gearbox in the standard Optima. Despite the engine’s quietness and smoothness, it nevertheless manages to give adequate city driving performance. The turbocharged four-cylinder engines in the Optima EX and EX Premium have higher torque (195 pound-feet) but fewer horsepower (178 hp).
Unfortunately, its 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox is prone to confusion at urban speeds, making it a less-than-ideal choice. With the optional 2.0-liter turbo-4 in the SX, the Optima SX is able to accelerate more quickly. With its 6-speed automatic transmission, it’s a wonderful option for those who can afford the costly top-of-the-line model.
2024 Kia Optima Release Date and Price
Even though the Optima LX starts at $23,000, it has many of high-tech goodies, like as a powerful engine, active safety systems, alloy wheels, and an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration. A turbocharged four-cylinder engine, leather upholstery, heated/cooled front seats, a power panoramic sunroof and adaptive cruise control are included in the Optima SX’s price tag of $33,000. For range-topping models, the same infotainment system is used, but 10 Harman Kardon speakers are included as well as built-in navigation.
