The Sorento has more interior space without a doubt, but the more efficient hybrid powertrain found on lower-priced models makes it even better in five-seat mode.
2024 Kia Sorento Redesign
The 2024 Kia Sorento is getting a plug-in hybrid engine for the first time this year. The X-Line add-on is now available on more models, in addition to a 10.3-inch touchscreen. The new Sorento’s design surprised us more than it intrigued us at first. As a marketing ploy, it now sports metallic fillips and a razor-mesh grille in place of the generic SUV cues that were previously present. Though, given the dash’s and the controls’ busy, video game-influenced design. The Sorento’s steering is more engaging, but its base 191-hp 4-cylinder engine isn’t going to make much of a splash in the acceleration department.

There is 40.7 inches of legroom for passengers over six feet tall in row two, with the option of either a sliding bench seat or a pair of captain’s chairs, and there are net pouches and USB ports nearby for their carry-ons. Only 29.6 inches of legroom can be found in the third row, which can be accessed by pressing a button. In general, it’s best suited for smaller groups and short trips.
