Kia Stinger GT2 2024 Release Date, Price, Redesign – The 2024 Kia Stinger is a five-door hatchback with enhanced technology and comfort for five passengers. The Stinger is a member of a rare and vanishing breed of rear-wheel-drive-based sedans. Still, its superb performance, great elegance, and impressive amenities offer a compelling case for its ongoing survival.
The minor stylistic modifications for 2024 do not significantly impact the design. The larger LED daytime running lights to give the Stinger a more frightening appearance at night, but the enhancements have minimal impact on the vehicle’s profile. Its dimensions scream rear-wheel drive, as do those of the very few automobiles currently made. Some may argue that the bodywork has excessive vents and flares, but we do not find the design overly complicated.

2024 Kia Stinger Redesign
The mid-cycle revamp of the 2024 Kia Stinger introduces a more robust basic engine, new driver aid systems, and a 10.3-inch touchscreen as standard equipment. In 2024, in addition to the GT-Line, GT1, and GT2 versions, a new special edition Scorpion model with unique colors, black wheels, and black accents will be produced. The front and rear lighting signatures of the Stinger fastback’s large nose and muscular tail are more evident. Standard LED headlights and enhanced daytime running lights are now standard, but the numerous air vents in front of and behind the new 18- and 19-inch wheel designs have not been altered. At the back, the hatch has horizontal LED taillights, and the four exhaust pipes have been made longer.
A new variable exhaust system increases the engine noise and horsepower of the twin-turbo 3.3-liter V-6 by 3 horsepower, for a total of 368 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque. The 2.0-liter turbo-4 with 255 horsepower is replaced by a 2.5-liter turbo-4 with 300 horsepower, 311 lb-ft of torque, and a 0-60 mph time of 5.2 seconds. An 8-speed automatic transmission transmits power to the rear wheels or all four wheels if all-wheel drive is an option on the GT1 and GT2 variants.
Ambient lighting, new stitch patterns on optional nappa leather seats, and additional chrome and black gloss instrument panel trim have been added to the interior. The dimensions remain unchanged and trend toward midsize sedans rather than compacts. This translates to power-adjustable, leather-upholstered front seats, while the rear seats provide ample headroom despite the sloping roof.

Interior
The Stinger’s attractive design does not compromise its spaciousness. The comfort of the front seats, rear legroom, and cargo space all get an eight. We would add one point for superior materials in higher trim levels. The length of the Stinger, at 190.2 inches, is comparable to that of larger sedans such as the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5-Series, allowing it to offer ample space in both rows. Both front seats are comfy and properly bolstered for somewhat twisty roads, and the driver’s seat is fitted with basic power adjustments. Leather is standard on all trim levels, with Nappa leather and heated and conditioned seats standard on the GT2.
Although it may appear that the roofline restricts rear-seat headroom, the seats recline just enough to minimize feelings of claustrophobia. And the rear leg room of 36.4 inches allows passengers to stretch out comfortably. The Stinger has 23.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the liftgate, which is suitable for two perpendicularly positioned golf bags. The Stinger’s interior materials are distinguished from those of other Kia passenger vehicles by metallic switches and soft touches. Not exactly of the highest quality, but nearly so.
Engine
The base Stinger GT-Line is equipped with the same turbocharged four-cylinder engine as the K5 GT and the Sorento SUV. The engine in the Stinger produces 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, an increase of 45 horsepower and 51 pound-feet over the previous year’s base engine. The 290-horsepower K5 GT is a true pleasure, which leads one to believe that the Stinger GT-Line, with the same engine (and rear-wheel drive), would also be enjoyable. The superiority of the K5 GT’s 8-speed wet dual-clutch transmission over the Stinger GT-standard Line’s 8-speed automatic transmission makes all the difference. Kia claims that the Stinger GT-Line can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in less than 5.2 seconds, yet its launch is sluggish on the road.
In contrast, the suggested engine for the Kia Stinger is a 3.3-liter turbo-6 with 368 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque. It feels faster than its 0-60 mph acceleration time of 4.7 seconds would indicate since it has higher low-range torque and a different first gear ratio than the traditional engine. Summer tires have a top speed of 167 kilometers per hour. The Stinger has precise handling and a very comfortable ride. Although the vehicle is comfortable on winding roads, it is too large and lacks the agility of other sport sedans to be a track weapon. It is a good vehicle for daily driving, weekend canyon treks, and remote excursions.
