Kia Stinger GTS 2024 Price, Redesign, Release Date – The 2024 Kia Stinger GTS is a five-door hatchback with updated comfort and technology for five passengers. The Stinger is a member of a rare and dwindling breed of rear-wheel-drive-based sedans. Still, it makes a compelling argument for their survival with superb performance, great flair, and solid amenities across the board.

2024 Kia Stinger Redesign
The mid-cycle revamp of the 2024 Kia Stinger is highlighted by a more robust basic engine, other standard driver assistance systems, and a standard 10.3-inch touchscreen. In addition to the GT-Line, GTS, and GT2 versions, a new special edition Scorpion trim for 2024 has rare colors, bespoke black wheels, and black accents. The Stinger fastback’s prominent nose and muscular tail have a more distinct front and rear lighting signature. Standard LED headlights are now standard, complemented by elongated daytime running lights, but the many air vents in front of and behind the new 18- and 19-inch wheel designs remain unchanged. At the back, LED taillights with a more horizontal design span the hatch, and the quad exhaust pipes are widened.
A new variable exhaust system improves engine noise and production on the twin-turbo 3.3-liter V-6 by three horsepower, for 368 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque. A 2.5-liter turbo-4 with 300 horsepower, 311 pound-feet of torque, and a 0-60 mph time of 5.2 seconds replaces the 2.0-liter turbo-4 with 255 horsepower. On GT1 and GT2 versions, an 8-speed automatic gearbox transmits power to the rear or all four wheels with optional all-wheel drive. The interior is updated with ambient lighting, new stitch patterns on optional Nappa leather seats, and more chrome and black gloss trim on the instrument panel. The dimensions remain unchanged, and a trend toward midsize sedans rather than compacts.

Interior
The Stinger’s length of 190.2 inches is comparable to that of bigger sedans like the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5-Series, offering ample space in both rows. The driver’s seat has basic power adjustments, and both front seats are pleasant and sufficiently bolstered for moderately curved roads. Leather is standard on all trim levels, with Nappa leather and seat heating and conditioning standard on the GT2.
Although its roofline may reduce rear-seat headroom, the seats recline just enough to prevent claustrophobia. And the 36.4 inches of rear legroom provides sufficient space for passengers to spread out. There are 23.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the Stinger’s liftgate, deep enough to hold two golf bags diagonally. The Stinger’s cabin materials are also superior to those of Kia’s other passenger vehicles, with metallic switches and soft touches.
Engine
The entry-level Stinger GTS receives a new 2.5-liter turbo-4 engine that is shared with the K5 GT and the Sorento SUV. It produces 300 horsepower and 311 lb-ft in the Stinger, an increase of 45 hp and 51 lb-ft over the previous year’s standard engine. The 290-hp K5 GT is an absolute hoot, leading one to believe that the Stinger GT-Line, with the same machine (and rear-wheel drive), would be as well. The K5 GT’s 8-speed wet dual-clutch transmission is superior to the Stinger GT-standard Line’s 8-speed automatic transmission, making all the difference. Kia claims that the Stinger GT-Line can accelerate from 0-60 mph in under 5.2 seconds, but on the road, it feels slower, with a sluggish launch.
This is in stark contrast to Stinger’s preferred powerplant, a 368-hp, the 3.3-liter turbo-6 engine that produces 368 lb-ft of torque. It has more low-range torque and a different first gear ratio than the standard engine, making it seem faster than its 0-60 mph speed of 4.7 seconds would indicate. With summer tires, the maximum speed is 167 miles per hour. The Stinger has precise handling and a very comfortable ride. Although the vehicle is at home on winding roads, it is too heavy and lacks the agility of other sports sedans to be a track weapon. It’s a great car for daily driving, canyon roads on the weekends, and trips away from the usual routine.
