2024 Kia Stinger GT1 Price, Redesign, Release Date – The 2024 Kia Stinger is a five-door hatchback that has been redesigned for 2024 to offer additional comfort and cutting-edge technology.
The Stinger is a member of a rare and rapidly dwindling breed of rear-wheel-drive sedans. Still, it makes a compelling argument for their survival with solid performance, plenty of styles, and a robust feature set throughout the lineup.

The Stinger’s mid-cycle revamp includes:A more robust basic engine.Increased standard driver assistance technologies. A standard 10.3-inch touchscreen. Along with the GT-Line, GT1, and GT2 trim levels, the new 2024 Scorpion trim level features exclusive colors, custom black wheels, and black trim components.The Stinger fastback’s long nose and muscular rear feature a more defined light signature front and rear. While LED headlights are now standard, along with more extended daytime running lights, the numerous air vents in front and behind the new 18- and 19-inch wheel designs remain unchanged. At the rear, LED taillights span the hatch in a more horizontal configuration, and the quad exhaust pipes have been widened.
A new variable exhaust system boosts engine noise and production by three horsepower on the twin-turbo 3.3-liter V-6, bringing 368 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque. The 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine from last year has been replaced by a 2.5-liter turbo-4 engine that produces 300 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque and accelerates from 0-60 mph in 5.2 seconds. On GT1 and GT2 versions, an eight-speed automatic transmission transmits power to the rear wheels or all four wheels via available all-wheel drive. The inside has been updated with ambient lighting and new stitch patterns on the optional Nappa leather seats and additional chrome and black gloss trim on the instrument panel. The dimensions remain the same, and the car is more akin to a mid-size sedan than a compact.

Interior
With a length of 190.2 inches, the 2024 Kia Stinger is comparable to larger sedans such as the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5-Series, providing ample space in both rows. The driver’s seat features basic power adjustments, and both front seats are supportive enough for mild bends. Every grade has leather seats. The GT2 has Nappa leather and heated/cooled seats.
Though its roofline appears to cut into backseat headroom, it reclines just enough to minimize claustrophobic feelings. Additionally, the 36.4 inches of rear legroom provides enough space for passengers to extend their legs. There are 23.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the Stinger’s liftgate, which is deep enough to carry a pair of golf bags diagonally. Additionally, the Stinger’s cabin materials are different from those seen in Kia’s other passenger cars, with metallic controls and soft touches.
Engine
The Stinger GT-Line receives a new engine, sharing its 2.5-liter turbo-4 with the K5 GT and Sorento SUV. It produces 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque in the Stinger, an increase of 45 horsepower and 51 pound-feet over last year’s standard engine. The 290-horsepower K5 GT is an utter riot, which leads one to believe that the Stinger GT-Line, equipped with the same machine (and rear-wheel drive), would be as well. Unfortunately, this is not the case, as the Stinger GT-Line opts for a standard eight-speed automatic transmission rather than the K5 GT’s eight-speed wet dual-clutch unit, which makes all the difference. Kia claims the Stinger GT-Line accelerates from 0-60 mph in 5.2 seconds, but on the road, it feels slower due to a sluggish push off the line.
This is in stark contrast to Stinger’s chosen engine, a 368-horsepower, 3.3-liter turbo-6 producing 376 lb-ft of torque. It has more low-end torque and a different first gear ratio than the standard engine, and it feels faster than the 4.7-second 0-60 mph time suggests. The peak speed is a whopping 167 miles per hour with summer tires. The Stinger’s steering is precise, and the ride is comfortable. While the car feels at home on winding roads, it is a little too heavy and lacks the agility of certain other sport sedans to be a track weapon. It’s a great car for everyday driving, as well as a few canyon road trips on the weekend or as a break from the daily routine.

2024 Kia Stinger Release Date and Price
The bigger turbo-4 engine found in GT-Line cars begins bidding at $37,135, including $1,045 destination, a $3,000 premium over 2021 models. At the opposite end of the spectrum, the 2024 Stinger GT2 is priced at $54,535 with the twin-turbo V-6, up $900 from last year.
