2024 Kia Stinger GT2 MPG Engine, Release Date, Price

2024 Kia Stinger GT2 MPG Engine, Release Date, Price – The 2024 Kia Stinger is a five-door hatchback that has been modified to include comfort and cutting-edge technology for 2024. The Stinger is a member of a unique and fast diminishing breed of rear-wheel-drive sedans, but it makes a convincing case for their continued existence with excellent performance, plenty of style, and a strong feature set across the lineup.

The minor style changes for 2024 have a minimal effect on the appearance, which is a good thing. The bigger LED daytime running lights give it a more menacing image at night, but the design of the Stinger remains unchanged. Its dimensions, like those of a few modern cars, scream rear-wheel drive. Some people think the bodywork has too many ducts and flares, but we think this doesn’t make it look bad.

The mid-cycle refresh of the Stinger offers a more powerful base engine, enhanced baseline driver aid technology, and an optional 10.3-inch touchscreen. Along with the GT-Line, GT1, and GT2 trim levels, a new 2024 Scorpion trim level is available, with special colors, custom black wheels, and black trim components. The Stinger fastback’s long nose and muscular tail sport a more defined light signature front and rear. While standard LED headlights and extended daytime running lights have been added, the numerous air vents in front and behind the new 18- and 19-inch wheel designs remain intact. At the rear, LED taillights span the hatch more horizontally, and the quad exhaust pipes have been expanded.

The engine’s twin-turbo 3.3-liter V-6 now produces 368 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque thanks to a new variable exhaust system. The 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine from last year has been replaced by a 2.5-liter turbo-4 engine that produces 300 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque and goes from zero to sixty miles per hour in 5.2 seconds. On GT1 and GT2 models, an eight-speed automatic transmission sends power to the rear wheels or all four wheels when all-wheel drive is specified. Ambient lighting and new stitch patterns on the available nappa leather seats, as well as extra chrome and black gloss trim on the instrument panel, have been added to the interior.

Interior

The 2024 Kia Stinger exceptional looks do not come at the expense of internal room. It earns an 8 here, with one point awarded for front seat comfort, one point awarded for rear seat legroom, and one point awarded for cargo space. We’d add another for superior materials in higher trim levels. The Stinger’s 190.2-inch length puts it in line with larger sedans like the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5-Series, providing considerable capacity in both rows. The driver’s seat is equipped with basic power adjustments, and both front seats provide enough support for minor bends. All grades come equipped with leather, while the GT2 adds nappa leather and heated and cooled seats.

Though its roofline looks like it would reduce headroom in the rear seats, it reclines just enough to alleviate claustrophobic feelings. Additionally, the 36.4 inches of rear legroom allows passengers to extend their legs comfortably. Behind the Stinger’s liftgate is 23.3 cubic feet of cargo capacity, which is deep enough to hold a pair of golf bags diagonally. Additionally, the materials used in the Stinger’s cabin are a step higher than those used in Kia’s previous passenger cars, with metallic controls and soft touches. It does not quite measure up to luxury standards, but it comes close.

Engine

The Stinger GT-Line gains a new engine, which shares a 2.5-liter turbo-4 with the K5 GT and Sorento SUV. It generates 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque in the Stinger, up 45 horsepower and 51 pound-feet over the basic engine from last year. The 290-horsepower K5 GT is an absolute joy to drive, which leads one to expect that the Stinger GT-Line, equipped with the same engine (and rear-wheel drive), will be just as much fun. Unfortunately, this is not the case, as the Stinger GT-Line is equipped with a conventional eight-speed automatic transmission rather than the K5 GT’s eight-speed wet dual-clutch unit. Kia claims the Stinger GT-Line accelerates from zero to sixty miles per hour in 5.2 seconds, but it feels slower on the road due to a sluggish push off the line.

This is in stark contrast to the Stinger’s engine choice, a 368-horsepower, 3.3-liter turbo-6 developing 376 lb-ft of torque. It produces more torque at the low end and has a different first gear ratio than the conventional engine, and it feels faster than the 4.7-second 0-60 mph time says. The top speed with summer tires is a staggering 167 miles per hour. The steering is accurate on the Stinger, and the ride is really comfortable. While the car is comfortable on twisting roads, it is a little too heavy and lacks the agility of some other sport sedans to be a track weapon. It’s a terrific vehicle for daily driving and the occasional weekend canyon road jaunt to break up the routine.
