Kia Sportage Hybrid 2024 Rumors, Release Date, Specs – When it comes to SUVs, the Sportage is one of the most popular. The Sportage competes with the Hyundai Tucson, Toyota RAV4, and Ford Escape models in terms of seating for five. Dressed down, the 2024 Kia Sportage aims to outdo some of its competitors.
Because it isn’t trying too hard, it wins us over. It earns a 7 for the overall design, including both the inside and outside. The Sportage’s sporty posture is partly aided by its small overhangs and extended wheelbase. The fast roofline draws the silhouette back toward its heels like an excellent pair of sports shoes. It’s neat and trim, with not a speck of excess fat on display.
2024 Kia Sportage Redesign
Only a few alterations are made to the 2024 Sportage because it’s set for a replacement next year. There is now a Nightfall Edition for the Sportage S and a power sunroof for the EX. There are a few little changes to the 2024 Kia Sportage LX or SX Turbo. The Sportage’s svelte silhouette hasn’t changed much over the years. Though the cabin is well-designed, it reminds us of how much better it would be if it had larger windows and a greater view of the outside world, even though it has a large touchscreen for entertainment.
Most Sportage crossovers are powered by a 181-horsepower inline-4 engine. It has a 6-speed automatic transmission and may be had with all-wheel drive, but don’t expect it to go quickly. We still prefer it to the thirsty 240-hp turbo-4 due to its gutsy acceleration, but the hefty price tag makes us squirm in disbelief. The handling of the SX Turbo has also been improved. It now has a firmer suspension and bigger wheels.
If you’re looking for a crossover that can carry up to 60.1 cubic feet of goods with its rear seats folded down, the Sportage is the vehicle for you. You get to decide what’s most important. Automatic emergency braking and good NHTSA crash-test ratings are standard on every Sportage, but the IIHS’s algorithm is more erratic, awarding the Top Safety Pick distinction to just the SX Turbo.
Interior
The Sportage receives a 7 because it can accommodate up to four people and a respectable quantity of cargo. It’s a vehicle that can execute a variety of functions simultaneously. The first priority is to transport the driver and front-seat passenger in relative tranquility, and it succeeds with flying colors. The front seats in the LX and Nightfall variants of the Sportage wear casual knit fabric, while the Sportage EX and SX Turbo crossovers have leather seats. Although we’d prefer bigger cushions, we’re pleased with the front seats’ support and power adjustability.
Long-legged passengers will have plenty of room in the back seats, which have 38.2 inches of legroom. However, there is very little headroom. However, even with a shoehorn and some blue words, three really large adults will not be able to fit. The cargo area may be expanded from 30.7 cubic feet to 60.1 cubic feet with the folding back seats, and the load floor isn’t too high. Even if the inside of the Sportage is well-done, both of the available engines may sound strained when driven close to their redline limits.
Engine
Using the basic 2.4-liter inline-4, it isn’t that great. With a 6-speed automatic transmission, it produces 181 engine and 175 lb-ft of torque and transmits it to the front wheels for acceptable acceleration. Although the engine tone isn’t exceptionally polished, it doesn’t overpower the interior. In comparison, the 2.0-liter turbo-4 in the Sportage SX Turbo makes 240 horses and 260 lb-ft of torque.
In order to deliver a third more power through the same 6-speed automatic transmission, it increases the boost level. In front-drive configurations, the torque pulls the steering wheel backwards as the vehicle delivers its power with force. It’s thirsty, both in terms of fuel consumption and the condition of the road.
2024 Kia Sportage Release Date and Price
The revised Sportage LX starts at $27,205, including a $1,215 destination fee, an increase of at least $1,900 over last year’s model. An additional $1,800 is required for all-wheel drive. SX, SX-Prestige, X-Line, and two new off-road packages, the X-Pro and X-Pro Prestige, are included in the extended selection. AWD is standard on the X-Line and X-Pro versions. At $38,005, the Sportage X-Pro Prestige is the most expensive model in the series.
